Antioxidant Capacity Assays
The antioxidant capacity of a sample pertains to its ability to neutralize free radicals either of a specific type or universally. To help evaluate the antioxidant capacity of biological fluids, cells, and extracts, we offer the following assays:
- The Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power (FRAP) Assay Kit measures antioxidant potential in samples through the reduction of ferric iron (Fe3+) to ferrous iron (Fe2+)
- Our Total Antioxidant Capacity (TAC) Assay measures universal antioxidant capacity based on the reduction of copper(II) to copper(I).
- The Oxygen Radical Antioxidant Capacity (ORAC) Assay measures the ability to scavenge oxygen radicals.
- The Hydroxyl Radical Antioxidant Capacity (HORAC) Assay measures the capacity to reduce hydroxyl radicals.
