Our Alanine Assay Kit is a simple assay that measures the total amount of alanine in a variety of sample types. Alanine is quantified in the presence of colorimetric reporter WST-1, an electron mediator, and L-alanine dehydrogenase using a standard colorimetric plate reader at 450 nm. Alanine levels in an unknown sample are calculated based on a known L-Alanine standard curve.
